A simple quick and comfort meal. Perfectly spiced brown lentil gravy with a blend of dry herb mix , complimented well with spiced sausages.
Ingredients
150 grams of brown lentils/ akka masoor
2 onions finely chopped
2 tomatoes finely chopped
2 teaspoons of dry mixed herbs
Salt to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1 2 to 13 cocktail sausages or chicken sausages
Spice mix
1 teaspoon of coriander powder
1/4 teaspoon of cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder
1/2 teaspoon of chilli powder or to your liking
Method
Step 1
Shallow fry the sausages , lightly dusted with chilli powder. Once done ,set aside.
Step 2
Using the same pan , sauté the finely chopped onions until they turn lightly brown. Mix in the finely chopped tomatoes and cook till softened , occasionally stirring.
Step 3
Incorporate the spice mix , dry herb mix and stir fry. Add in just enough water, allowing it to cook on low for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add in the finely chopped coriander leaves ,mix thoroughly. Place the fried sausages and cook for 2 minutes.
