Prawn Chilli Fry

Simple easy prawn chilli fry with basic ingredients and spices. Especially made this for my kids , they love prawns.


Ingredients


15 prawns

{ cleaned and washed well.Add a bit of turmeric powder , salt and keep aside for 20 minutes. Wash off and pat dry.}


1 green chilli finely chopped

2 small size potatoes chopped into small cubes.

1 and 1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic.

2 medium size onion chopped finely

1/2 tsp chilli powder or 1 tsp depending on taste

1/4 tsp cumin powder

1/4 tsp garam masala powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 capsicum sliced thinly

1/4 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves

salt to taste


Method


Add 2 tbsp clarified butter/ghee. Once hot add finely chopped green chillies , ginger and garlic. saute till light brown.

Then add finely chopped onions , saute till translucent. Add the chopped potatoes . Saute well ,then add 1/4 cup water . Allow to cook on low flame, occasionally stirring .


Once the potatoes are nearly done add the chilli powder, cumin powder , garam masala powder and turmeric powder.

Add 1/4 cup water and cook for 1/2 minute. Add a tsp of finely chopped coriander leaves , salt to taste. Add the prawns and saute gently. Cook for 5 minutes.


Adjust the seasoning .Lastly sprinkle in finely chopped coriander leaves and sliced capsicum.
