Moong Dal Laddoo /Laddu

An Indian sweet /laddoo / laddu is a rich sweet shaped into a ball. The moong dal is dry roasted and then powdered to a flour consistency . Ghee , powder sugar and cardamom powder is added to make these tasty laddus.


Ingredients 1 cup moong dal / yellow split Moong dal 1/4 cup melted ghee 1/2 cup powder sugar 1/2 tsp cardamom powder



Method

Wash the moong dal well . Drain out the water. And spread on a muslin cloth and let it dry. Once completely dry. Dry roast the moong dal on low flame. Till done. Cool and then grind to a fine flour consistency. Sift it and keep aside. Add this sifted moong dal flour to a kadhai / thick bottom vessel and roast again for 5 mins on low flame. Add the melted hot ghee one spoon at a time and mix well on low flame. Remove from fire. Add in the powder sugar and powder cardamom. Mix all the ingredients well. Then form into balls .
