Paneer Gravy

Quick simple and basic gravy for this cottage cheese/ paneer dish served with Rice


INGREDIENTS 1

200gms paneer


For the GRAVY


Ingredients 2

Stir fry in 2 tsp ghee

2 sliced onions till translucent

2 sliced tomatoes

And 5 cashew nuts

1 tsp garlic ginger paste

Grind the above to a paste with some amount of water. Keep aside.


INGREDIENTS 3

1 Bayleaf

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp pepper powder

1/2 tsp garam masala

2 dried pandi chillies cut into pieces or kashmiri chillies or any dried red chillies

2 tsp kasuri methi / driedFenugreek leaves


METHOD


Heat up 2 tsp of ghee. Add the bay leaf and ground paste with little bit of water.

Allow to come to a boil. Switch gas to low flame. Add in the corriander powder,pepper and garam masala powder.

Stir fry well. Add in the pandi chillies and 2 tsp kasuri methi.

Lastly add the paneer and salt to taste. Cook for 2 minutes on low flame .


FOR THE RICE

1 1/2 cup basmati rice

1 soup cube

1/2 tsp shahjira


Heat up 2 tsp ghee. Add the shahjira and the crushed soup cube.

Mix in the rice and stir fry for 1/2 a minute

Pour in hot water just 1/2inch above rice.

Allow to come to a boil.


Then lower the flame. Cover with lid. Cook till done .
