Mutton Chops

Mutton Chops marinated with spices and crumb fried .


8 mutton Chops

1 tbsp East Indian bottle masala

1 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp turmeric powder


Clean wash the mutton Chops well. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp gram flour and 1 tsp vinegar. Keep for half an hour. Wash off well.

Using a mallet flatten the meat on the chops to tenderise it. Marinate the chops with East Indian bottle masala powder , turmeric powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste and salt to taste. Marinate for 2 to 3 hours or overnight in the fridge.

Once taken out from the fridge bring it to room temperature. Add oil to a pan ,  once nice and hot , sear the chops ,one side of the chops for 30 seconds on low flame. Then the other side for another 30 seconds on low flame.

For the crumb coating

Bread crumbs or panko bread crumbs

2 Eggs

A pinch of salt

1/2 tsp chilli powder

Whisk the eggs with salt and chilli powder.


Once the mutton Chops have cooled. Coat the chops first with egg mixture, then coat with the bread crumbs. Heat a pan , once hot ,add the chops and cook on low flame. Turn the other side and fry .

Best served with some chutney or sauce
