Braised Beef

Braised Beef With fried Potatoes, Peas ,Carrots Served With Pulao


Ingredients 1

1 kg beef steak pieces {Indian beef }

2 tbsp East Indian Bottle masala

1 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste

Marinate the beef steaks with the bottle masala, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and turmeric powder, add salt and mix well.

Keep for an hour.


Ingredients

10 cloves of garlic sliced

2 inch ginger, thinly sliced

8 green chillies thinly sliced


Method

On a non stick pan add some amount of clarified butter/ ghee , add some steak pieces and fry both sides well .

Remove and keep aside.

In a pressure cooker add some ghee ,saute the sliced garlic, ginger and green chillies for a minute on medium flame.

Add the beef steaks and saute again for a minute. Add 3 cups of water or just enough water to cover the beef .

Pressure cook on high for 1 whistle then low for 10 mins to 15 mins.



Ingredients

2 carrots sliced

150 gms shelled green peas

3 onions of medium size, chop into round slices

3 potatoes ,chop into round slices

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Method using the same pan to braise the beef steak , add ghee and saute the onions till translucent.

Add the beef steak , the remaining gravy from the cooker and 1 tbsp bottle masala.

Cook on medium flame till gravy thickens. This takes approximately 10 to 15 mins.

Add salt only if required.

Lastly 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, if using white vinegar add only 1 tsp or can be replaced with a 1/4 cup good red wine.

Simultaneously

Boil the peas and sliced carrots till done.

Fry the round potato slices

Serve with Pulao.
