Neer Dosa means water dosa , a crepe prepared from rice batter. A very simple preparation and requires no fermentation. Usually served with coconut chutneys, stews and curries. A very popular dosa from the Mangalorean cuisine.
For the Neer Dosa
Ingredients
3 cups any raw rice { I have used broken basmati rice}
water for grinding
3 tbsp fresh coconut or desiccated coconut
Method
Soak the rice for 4 to 5 hours. Grind to a paste with 3 tbsp coconut with some amount of water to make a smooth paste.
Then once ground add another 4 cups water gradually ,checking the consistency. It should be runny but at the same time not too much.No salt required. If desired add salt.
Brush a nonstick pan with oil. Pour some amount of batter well. Cover.with lid. Remove when done. The pan should be nice and hot.
