Mawa Cup Cakes / Cake

Mawa or Khoya is a dairy product made of either dried whole milk or milk thickened by heating .

This Mawa cake is a rich delicious cake made with mawa , flour, butter , milk , sugar ,rose essence and cardamon powder.


Ingredients 250 gms maida /plain flour 250 gms butter unsalted 250 gms powdered sugar 200 gms mawa 1 tsp rose essence 1tsp cardamom powder 3 eggs (Separate the yolks from whites) Make stiff peaks of white of egg

1/2+1/4cup milk 1tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp soda bicarbonate

Mix all dry ingredients together and sift well Flour, baking powder,soda bicarbonate


Method Cream butter and then add powdered sugar and whisk well. Add one yolk at a time and mix with electric mixer. Add the mawa and 1/4 cup milk and mix again .Add rose essence and cardamom powder . Add 1 tbsp of flour at a time to the butter mixture .Mix with the electric mixer each time Add the 1/2 cup milk and mix again Lastly add the stiff egg white and fold gently using a spatula.

Add this cake batter into a lined baking dish with parchment paper/ and or add this cake batter into cupcake moulds and bake in a preheated over at 180 degrees till done.
