Homestyle Mince Curry with Peas & Potatoes

A hearty and Flavourful mince curry made with a blend of dried Bedgi chillies and spices. Cooked with fresh green peas and potatoes . Perfect with some pao or crusty bread.
Ingredients for the Ground Masala
14 dried Bedgi chillies
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 tsp peppercorns
1 tsp garam masala powder
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 medium-sized onions, sliced
Method for Ground Masala
Grind all the above ingredients together, adding just enough water to make a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Ingredients
1.2 kg mince (beef or mutton)
4 medium-sized tomatoes, finely chopped
3 medium-sized onions, finely chopped
100–120 g green peas
2 large potatoes, chopped
3–4 green chillies, slit
2 tsp vinegar, or according to taste
Salt to taste
Oil, for cooking
Method
Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed cooking vessel. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until lightly browned.
Add the chopped tomatoes and salt. Sauté until the tomatoes become soft and mushy.
Add the prepared ground masala and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
Add the mince and stir-fry well for another 2 minutes.
Add the green peas and chopped potatoes. Mix well.
Add just enough water to cook the mince and potatoes. Cover and cook until the mince and potatoes are completely done.
Adjust the seasoning. Add the slit green chillies and vinegar, and cook for another 10–15 minutes.
Serve hot with pao or crusty bread.
