Spicy Kheema Masala – A Flavourful Minced Meat Dish
Ingredients – For the Ground Masala
12 dried Kashmiri red chillies
1 tbsp cumin seeds
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 medium onion
Just enough water to grind
Grind all the above ingredients with a little water to make a smooth, flavourful paste.
Ingredients – For the Kheema
1 kg mince (kheema) ( mutton or beef mince)
4 onions, finely chopped
½ cup finely chopped coriander leaves
3–4 green chillies, slit or as per taste
Salt to taste
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Water as required
Method
Heat a pan and sauté the finely chopped onions until they turn lightly brown.
Add the prepared ground masala paste and about 2 cups of water. Cook on a medium flame, stirring occasionally until the masala cooks well and releases its aroma.
Add the mince and salt to taste. Mix well so the mince is nicely coated with the masala. Cook for about 2 minutes.
Add the slit green chillies and a little water if required. Cover and cook until the mince is well done and tender.
Finally add 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar and the finely chopped coriander leaves.
Allow it to cook for another 10 minutes so the flavours blend beautifully.
Serving Suggestion
Serve hot with pav and sliced onions for a comforting and satisfying meal.
