Green vatana curry prepared with East Indian Bottle Masala Powder.
Ingredients
250 gms green vatana
4 green chillies finely chopped
3 onions finely chopped
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp East Indian Bottle Masala
1 tbsp coriander powder
200 ml coconut milk
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
Salt to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Method
After soaking for about 5 hrs , cook the green vatana in a pressure cooker , add salt to taste for 1 whistle on high ,then low for 1 whistle.
Heat up a vessel with some oil, add the finely chopped onions and fry till lightly browned.
Then add the finely chopped green chillies, stir fry. Then add the coriander powder, pepper powder, cumin powder and garam masala powder , East Indian Bottle Masala and ginger garlic paste. Stir fry on low adding some of the water of the cooked vatana. Cook for a minute.
Next add the cooked vatana,mix well. Cook for 2 mins. Lastly add the coconut milk, salt if required and finely chopped coriander leaves. Cook for another 5 mins.
