Green Peas Pulao (Simple & Flavourful)

A simple yet aromatic Green Peas Pulao made with fragrant basmati rice, fresh herbs, and everyday spices. This quick one-pot meal is light, flavourful, and perfect for busy days when you want something comforting and delicious without much effort.
Ingredients
For the rice:
240 grams basmati rice
Wash, soak for 10–15 minutes, drain and set aside
Spice powders:
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Other ingredients:
Salt to taste
Hot water (approx. 1/2 inch above rice level)
1 tsp lime juice
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1/4 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped
1/4 cup mint leaves, finely chopped
120 grams green peas (shelled)
2 tbsp clarified butter (ghee)
Method
Heat clarified butter (ghee) in a pan.
Add the green peas and stir-fry for a minute.
Add chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, and green chillies. Stir-fry till fragrant.
Add all the spice powders and mix well.
Add the drained basmati rice and gently stir-fry for 1–2 minutes.
Pour in hot water (about 1/2 inch above the rice level).
Add salt as required and mix gently.
Bring to a boil, then lower the flame.
Add lime juice, cover, and cook till the rice is perfectly done.
Fluff gently and serve hot.
