East Indian Style Pork Vindaloo

East Indian authentiv Pork Vindaloo/ Indiyal , a rich and bright red colour made with a mix of Kashmiri chillies ,cumin , cloves of garlic and vinegar. The kashmiri chillies are deseeded , the spices are soaked along with the chillies for an hour in vinegar and then ground to a paste. This ground paste is added to the pork and kept to marinate for few hours , then cooked without any oil or any other ingredients.


30 kashmiri chillies (deseed)

2 tbsp cumin seeds

30 cloves garlic small size

1/4 tsp turmeric

1 and 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar /coconut toddy vinegar or white vinegar

Soak the kashmiri chilies ,cumin seeds, garlic cloves and turmeric powder in apple cider vinegar for 1 hour.

Then grind the above to a smooth paste

1 and 1/2 Kg pork {boneless }


After cleaning the pork well add turmeric , salt and keep for sometime. About 15 mins

Then wash well.

pat dry the pork well.

Add the ground paste to the pork and let it marinate for 1 hour

Add 1 to 2 cups water mix well.

Cooking process

Do not add oil .

Once on the gas allow the marinated pork to come to a boil then put the flame on low and cook till almost done.

Check for salt. If required add salt according to taste

Cook till done
