Chicken Curry

Chicken curry prepared with green masala and Parsi Dhansak masala powder.

Parsi Dhansak masala powder is made of chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, trifhalla, bay leaf ,fennel powder, cloves etc. This spice powder is easily available online .


500 gms Chicken pieces

Clean and wash well, pat dry

Ingredients for the green masala

100 gms coriander leaves along with stem

3 green chilies

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp pepper powder

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

Grind to paste all the above mentioned ingredients using just enough water .


2 tsp Parsi Dhansak masala powder

2 onions finely chopped

3 tomatoes finely chopped

2 potatoes chopped into cubes


Once oil is hot saute the onions till lightly brown. Next saute the finely chopped tomatoes, add 1/2 cup water and cook till nice and soft . Add the ground green masala, stir fry the masala for a minute ,add 1 cup water and cook for 2 mins on medium flame.

Add the dhansak masala powder and stir fry. Add the potatoes, chicken pieces and 1 cup water. Add salt according to taste. Cook till done.
