Chicken Curry

A chicken curry with basic spices and dried fenugreek leaves


2 or 3 Kashmiri chillies

2 tbsp desiccated coconut

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp pepper corns

1/2 tsp fennel seeds

1/4 tsp methi seeds/ fenugreek seeds

1/2 tsp turmeric

1 onion

2 tsp ginger garlic paste

Small size of tamarind

Grind all the above to a paste adding some water to help grinding.

Ingredients 2

500 gms chicken pieces

2 tbsp dried kasuri methi/ dried fenugreek leaves

2 medium size onions sliced

Method 1

Marinate the chicken pieces with chilli powder, cumin ,turmeric and pepper powder with little bit of salt.

Method 2

Heat up a vessel with some oil. Stir fry the onions till lightly browned.

Add the ground masala and some water and allow to cook on medium flame.

Now add the chicken pieces and add little water if required.

Once it comes to a boil lower the flame and allow to cook. Once chicken is almost done add the kasuri methi and salt to taste accordingly if required.

Cook till done.
