Akka Masoor / Brown lentils Curry

Akka Masoor with Coconut milk and East Indian Bottle Masala





Ingredients


200 gms Brown lentils/ Akka Masoor


wash well and soak for an hour , ddran out the water, add fresh water and boil till done



Ingredients

few curry leaves

8 cloves of garlic finely chopped

1/2 inch ginger finely chopped

2 green chillies finely chopped

2 onions finely chopped

1 tomato sliced

1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves

200 ml coconut milk

2 tbsp East Indian Bottle Masala or ss per your taste

salt to taste.

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder



Method

Add 3 tbsp ghee ,once hot add the finely chopped ginger garlic and green chillies ,stir fry,then add the onions and stir fry till lightly brown. Add the sliced tomatoes and cook till soft. Add the East Indian bottle masala , turmeric powder and 1/2 cup water.Cook for a minute.


Then add the boiled brown lentils , coconut milk , salt to taste and cook for 5 mins on medium flame. Lastly add the garam masala powder and finely chopped coriander leaves.
