Pomfret Fry

Stuffed Pomfret fry with Bottle Masala


4 Big Pomfrets

Cleaned, washed and pat dry, make slits both sides like pockets on either side of the fish

Ingredients 2

200 gms finely chopped onions

300 gms finely chopped tomatoes

3 green chilies

1/2 cup coconut milk

2 tbsp East Indian Bottle Masala

Salt to taste

1tbsp ginger garlic paste


Heat up some oil and stir fry the onions till nice and translucent. Next add in the tomatoes and green chilies and stir fry , adding some salt at this stage.

Once the tomatoes are soft ,add ginger garlic paste and stir fry.

Now mix in the bottle masala and the coconut milk and stir fry on low flame

Cook for 2 minutes on low flame.

Once the mixture is cooled , stuff this mixture into the slits made of the Pomfrets.

Coat the outside of the pomfret with some plain bottle masala paste ,(bottle masala ,salt and Little water to make a paste)

Coat the fish with semolina and shallow fry.
