Guacamole is an avocado based dip or spread served with tortilla chips.
For this recipe I have used store bought tortilla chips. I have shared the tortilla chips recipe too.
Ingredients
4 ripe avocados , mash the 4 avocados well.
2 medium size onion finely chopped
1 large tomato finely chopped
4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
1 tbsp sliced jalapeno or green chillies
Method
Mix all the above and serve with tortilla chips.
Tortilla Chips
Ingredients
2 cups maize flour {Makai Atta}
1 cup plain flour (Maida)
salt to taste
1 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp carom seeds/ ajwain
1 tbsp oil
Add water as required
Method
Knead all the above to a smooth soft dough . Brush the kneaded soft dough with oil and cover with a damp muslin cloth. Keep for 1 hour.
Roll into round thin chapatis . Poke all over the thin rolled chapati / tortilla with a fork.
Roast on the pan on both sides of the chapati/ tortilla.
After roasting , cut the tortillas / chapatis with a clean scissor into triangle shapes.
Place a baking sheet on a baking tray . Brush it with oil . Place the triangle shape tortillas on the tray.
Brush the top part of the cut tortillas with oil.
Bake in a pre heated oven at 200 degrees till crisp.
Easy way Salsa recipe
Ingredients
12 big tomatoes ,puree and keep aside
8 to 10 cloves of garlic made into a paste
1 / 2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 green chillies finely chopped
2 onions finely chopped
1/2 tsp pepper powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
vinegar
1 tbsp oregano
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Method
Stir fry the onions till translucent with the finely chopped green chillies and garlic paste. Add the tomato puree with 1/4 cup water. Allow it to cook for 2 mins on low flame. Next add the chilli powder, cumin powder , pepper powder, oregano , salt to taste and tomato ketchup. Cook for a minute on low flame.
Add lastly apple cider vinegar. Cook for 5 mins more
