Chole Recipe 1

Chole prepared with chickpeas and spices used that are easily available at home.

Ingredients 300 gms chickpea soaked overnight and then boiled 2 onions finely chopped 1 tomato finely chopped 2 tomatoes made into puree 1 tsp ginger and garlic paste

Spices (Chole masala powder) 1/2tsp chilli powder or according to taste 1 tsp coriander powder 1/2tsp cumin 1/4tsp turmeric 1/4tsp amchur powder 1/4tsp asofetida powder/hing


Grind to powder 1 small piece of javitri (dry mace flower),1/2tsp pepper corns,1/4tsp fennel seed 1small piece cinnamon,1black cardamom and 3 cloves.

2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped

Bagar the onions till brown. Add the finely chopped tomatoes and cook till soft. Add the puree and some of the boiled channa water. Add 1tsp ginger garlic paste, salt to taste and the above mentioned spices and ground spices too. Cook on medium flame for 2 to 3 mins. Add in 1 tbsp of finely chopped coriander leaves. Add the chickpeas and some water. Allow to cook for another 15 to 20 mins. Lastly add 1 tbsp coriander leaves.
