Black Eye Beans Curry

This black Eye Beans Curry is prepared with just basic spices , it is quick ,simple and easy to prepare. This curry goes really well with chapatis or bread.


200 gms back eye beans ( pressure cook on high one whistle then on low one whistle) dont discard the water in which the chawli was boiled.keep aside.

2 medium size onions finely chopped

1 spicy green chillies finely chopped

2 tomatoes medium size finely chopped

2 tsp ginger garlic paste

1/2 tsp chilli powder

1/2 tsp pepper powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

1 tsp corriander powder

1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves

And few ginger julienne

Salt to taste

1/4 tsp Amchur powder


Heat up some oil and stir fry the finely chopped onions till lightly browned. Add the finely chopped green chillies and finely chopped tomatoes. Add some of the water (reserve water in which the chawli was boiled) to allow the tomatoes to cook till soft and for a gravy mixture.

Mix in the ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, pepper powder, turmeric powder , garam masala powder , coriander powder and amchur powder.

And stir fry well adding some more amount of the reserved water.

Cook for a minute on low gas.

Add the boiled chawli ,salt to taste add accordingly.

Lastly add the finely chopped coriander leaves.
