Quick and simple mackerel curry served with mackerel fry. The Mackerel is stuffed with green masala and shallow fried.
For the Mackerel Curry
Ingredients
4 kashmiri Chillies
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp pepper corn
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 onion sliced
1 inch ginger finely chopped
Small ball of tamarind
1/4 cup coconut
Grind the above into paste with just enough water.
Ingredients 2
5 cloves garlic mashed
Few Curry leaves
5'Tirphal / Schezwan pepper corn
2 green chillies slit
1 mackerel
Clean washed and cut into 2 to 3 pieces
Salt to taste
1 and 1/2 cup water
Method
Add oil , once hot add mashed garlic, few curry leaves and tirphal. Saute lightly, add then the ground masala and 1 and 1/2 cup water. Add salt to taste and bring to a boil.
Add the fish pieces and cook , once almost done add the slit green chillies. Cook till done.
Mackerel fry
Ingredients for the masala
120 gms coriander leaves
6 green chillies
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1tsp pepper powder
Salt to taste
Tamarind (small ball)
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
Grind to a paste with just enough water to a thick paste.
Add oil and shallow fry till masala is cooked.
Ingredients
4 mackerel
Clean and wash well, make slits on either side of the mackerel.
Add this green masala into the slits and shallow fry.
Serve with rice.
Mango salad
1 bottle mango thinly sliced
Salt, icing sugar, finely chopped coriander leaves and 1 sliced onions and a pinch of chilli powder or finely chopped green chilli and pepper powder.
