DONUTS
Ingredients 1
250 gms maida / plain flour sift the flour.
1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
2 tsp cinnamon powder
pinch of salt
80 gms powdered sugar
mix all this together.
Ingredients 2
2 eggs at room temperature
50 ml lukewarm milk
60 gms warm melted butter
mix all together.
Ingredients 3
1/2 cup lukewarm water
1tsp instant dry yeast
1tsp sugar
mix all together.
METHOD 1
Mix ingredient 1, 2 and 3 together with a spoon
Add 3/4 cup sifted flour.
mix well. no kneading and over mixing
Cover and keep in warm place for 2 hours.
METHOD 2
On a clean working place sprinkle some plain flour.
Add the dough on the working surface.
oil the palm of your hands.
keep adding flour little by little to make a soft nonsticky dough.Dont knead the dough, just fold the dough gently till u can form a smooth soft non sticky dough.You may need upto 1 cup of plain flour.
Dust the rolling pin with flour roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick.
u can make round shape, rectangular shape or use donut cutter.
METHOD 3
Place a parchment paper on a tray. place the donuts on the parchment paper.
keep again in warm place for an hour.
heat up oil to medium heat . Deep fry the donuts.
for the glaze
melt chocolate on a double boiler .
use colored sprinkles .
or
sifted icing sugar with little milk to make a thick paste , add colour of choice.
coat the donuts with these glaze.
